She excelled at teaching both middle and high school band in Alberta, Canada for which she received the Keith Mann Young Band Director’s Award and the prestigious Edwin Parr First Year Teacher Award. Dr. Bodnar has presented at conferences in Canada, the US, Scotland, Thailand and Austria. Her research interests include conducting pedagogy and motor cognition. An accomplished bassoonist, Dr. Bodnar has performed with the University of Washington Wind Ensemble, the New Edmonton Wind Sinfonia, the University of North Texas Wind Symphony and the Madera Winds. She has recorded with the University of North Texas Wind Symphony for the GIA Teaching Music Through Performance CD series as well as the GIA Composer Collection CD’s.

Mr. Mosier is the founding teacher of the Digital Media Technology program at Summit Technology Academy which is housed by the Lee’s Summit R7 School District. Mr. Mosier’s students at Summit Technology have won national recognition.
Recently, Mr. Mosier conducted his work RUN! with the Georgia All-State Orchestra. Mr. Mosier has conducted at the University of Wisconsin Strings Camp in June of 2015 and will be presented workshops at the 2015 Texas Orchestra Directors Association Conference. Mr. Mosier was invited to conduct on the national honors performance series at Carnegie hall twice during the 2016 season before coming to join us at JIS in 2017. |

He has conducted concerts and workshops throughout the United States and in China, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, and Ecuador. He was the 2015 recipient of the Excellence in Research and Creative Scholarship Award by the Virginia Tech College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
An accomplished composer, Bigler has published choral works with Oxford, Hinshaw, Walton, and Alliance Music, and has received commissions by choirs throughout the country. He was a winner in the 2011 National Collegiate Choral Organization Choral Music Series composition contest and has received commissions from the Barlow Endowment and from choirs across the nation. As a collaborative pianist, Bigler has taught, performed, and recorded with faculty, students, and guest artists at Virginia Tech, the University of Texas; the Dale Warland Singers; Scuola Italia in Urbania, Italy; and the Bel Canto Scholarship competition, among others. With additional instrumental background as an oboist, percussionist, organist, and flutist, Bigler's experience covers orchestra, opera, band, and chamber music. Bigler received his bachelor’s degree in piano performance and his master’s in choral conducting from Brigham Young University and his doctor of musical arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. |
